Job Description Job Description Payroll Clerk (Costa Mesa, CA) Industry: Consumer Data, Credit Reporting & Financial Services Employment Type: Contract (W2) Duration: 6 months to start Pay Rate: $17/hour Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours Work Model: Remote with 2 onsite days per month in Costa Mesa, CA About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for a large organization within the financial services and consumer data industry . This role focuses on accurate payroll processing, data entry, reconciliation, and maintaining payroll records in a high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Compile payroll data including hours worked, wages, taxes, insurance, and employee deductions Review and screen time and payroll inputs for accuracy and resolve errors Enter payroll data into payroll systems and reconcile discrepancies Monitor payroll system reports and address alerts or processing issues Maintain and update payroll records, including changes to deductions, exemptions, and employee transfers Prepare payroll-related reports such as earnings, taxes, and deductions Track leave balances, non-taxable wages, and assist with paycheck issuance Support cost accounting activities by prorating payroll expenses across departments as needed Qualifications 1–3 years of payroll processing experience Required proficiency with Oracle and Ceridian payroll systems Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to reconcile payroll discrepancies and maintain confidential records Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with limited onsite requirements APPLY NOW!
