Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician, $1,000 Sign- On Bonus! About the role: Advanced Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full-time overnight Veterinary Technician to join the ER team. Duties and responsibilities you may own in this role: - Triage and prioritize incoming patients - Stabilize patients in critical condition - Assist with diagnostic procedures - Administer medications and fluids - Provide wound care and post-surgical support - Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities - Assist during surgeries and emergency procedures - Communicate with pet owners - Maintain accurate medical records - Ensure cleanliness and sanitization - Educate pet owners on aftercare - Collaborate with the veterinary team - Stay updated through continuing education - Offer compassion and emotional support to patients and owners. Compensation range $26.00 - $35.00 hourly plus $2 differential for any hours worked between 6pm-6am. Schedule: - 4/10's or 3/12's - Weekend flexibility is required Basic Required Qualifications: - High school diploma - 2 years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry, ER experience preferred - Current and valid RVT license in the state of CA preferred but not required - Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate - Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations - Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license) Full time benefits include: - Full-time benefits include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurances, flex-spending accounts, 401(k), Employee Assistance Program, 3 weeks accrued paid time off, and uniforms - Highly competitive and comparable wages based on experience and skill set. - Competitive Vet Assistant and RVT CE allowance annually - VetBloom access: Race approved continuing education, training, and curriculum library - License application and renewal reimbursement for RVT’s - Opportunities for growth and advancement Join us at Advanced Veterinary Specialists in beautiful Santa Barbara and be part of a life saving team!
