Job Description:

Responsible for execution of all menu categories and specific recipes for all bakery menu items including timing, quality, temperature, portion, and presentation. Will be assisting with all overall culinary supervision promoting a fun and creative working environment. Will also partner with Front of House to ensure Cast training/knowledge of product ensuring a smooth operation and delivery of exceptional bakery items.Food & Beverage Pastry Cooks receive a starting rate of $17.30 per hour.$1,500 New Hire Bonus Incentive Pastry Cook/Baker New Hire Bonus$1,500 Hiring Bonus (First payment after 90 days = $375 and Second payment after 150 days = $1,125)To be eligible for the sign-on bonus, cast members must be in the position continuously for at least 90 days after hire and be employed by The Walt Disney Company at time of payment. A cast member is hired after the successful completion of Disney Traditions or one full day of employment. To be eligible for an incentive bonus after 150 days, cast members must remain employed in the position continuously for at least 150 days and be employed by The Walt Disney Company at the time of payment. Payments will be made approximately two weeks after the 90 and 150-day milestones, respectively. Bonus payments are subject to applicable taxes and other legal withholding. Disputes concerning eligibility to a bonus payment shall be resolved by Disneyland Recruitment in its sole and absolute discretion. The incentives offered herein are subject to change at any time, with or without notice. Cast Members hired prior to October 17, 2021 or after January 1, 2022 will not be eligible for an incentive award.Responsibilities :Knowledge of some pastry techniques, scaling, mixing, proofing, baking, decorating, finishingPortions and arranges food on serving dishes and is responsible for portion control and plate presentationMay cook, mix and/or season ingredients when preparing bakery items (i.e. muffins, Danishes , cakes, restaurant items, banquet orders, ice cream or sorbet)Knowledge and understanding of tools, measurements, ingredients, equipment, small wares and cooking required for a bakeryAbility to prepare products according to recipe guidelinesKnowledge and understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation including temperature requirementsHas good judgment of food quality and production, understands the impact of spoilageAbility to assist Chef in preparing items for Guests with special dietary needsCleans kitchen equipment and practices HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) proceduresBasic Qualifications :You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role.Experience in culinary field/high volume bakery 2 yearsAbility to multi task and work in a very fast paced team environmentDemonstrates a desire to work in a guest service and team environmentDemonstrates passion and enthusiasm for working in the kitchenStrong listening skills and ability to follow directionThis role is Part-Time, and requires full availability a minimum of three (3) days a week including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special eventsPreferred Qualifications:Enrolled in a culinary education program or equivalentRecommendation from schoolFood Safety Certification or equivalentBilingual preferredAdditional Information :SCHEDULE AVAILABILTYOur Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am.SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATIONAfter clicking "Apply for this job"-- - below, the employment application will open in a new window.
